Asalaam mu aleikum,
On the eve of Eid 2012 we are witnessing yet further untold killings, tortures and massacres of the Muslims around the world. Before I get to say Eid Mubarak in a few days inshallah, lets stop and think. This not is happening in every month of the Islamic calendar but it is also happening in Ramadhan itself. The month when Muslims worldwide celebrate with happiness and joy all month long having the opportunity to sacrifice their food and drink and worship the Creator like no other.
Please scroll down the email and just see for yourself what is upsetting me so much...

Slaughter of Muslims in Burma - June 2012
After reading and watching helplessly the recent massacre of minority Burmese Muslims by the Buddhist majority, let not another hypocrite sing that phoney and repugnant 'song' about Buddhists being "peaceful."
In June 2012, hundreds Burmese Muslims have been butchered, and many more injured and made homeless in Burma as a result religious intolerance by the Buddhist majority. The Burmese military government, far from trying to resolve the problem and protect the minority, has been silently conniving with the rioters by creating greater hardships for the Muslim minority.
The reason of this June 2012 riot is unknown except for the periodical outbursts of the Burmese Buddhists to show their might and vent their anger on the helpless minority. It is commonly accepted that the June 2012 massacre of Burmese Muslims was intentionally orchestrated by the rioters in collaboration with the government. Yet the world, including the UN, is conveniently silent. The brazenly hypocritical and unscrupulous woman, Aung San Suu Kyi, is very prompt at accusing the Burmese military of human rights violations when she is under house arrest. But she finds nothing wrong when the military helps the Buddhist mobs to murder the innocent Muslim minority of her country.
As in India, anti-Muslim riots are nothing unusual in Burma. Violence in Burma against Muslims have been erupting periodically since the 1920s based simply on religious intolerance by the Buddhist majority.
The Muslims of Burma mainly belong to the Arakan state in western Burma. They are known as Rohingya or Burmese Muslims. The term "Rohingya" has been derived from the Arabic word "Raham" meaning sympathy. Muslim settlements began being established in the Arakan province of Burma since the arrival of the Arabs in the 8th century. Presently about 800,000 Rohingya live in Burma. The United Nations describes them as "one of the world’s most persecuted minorities." Yet it has never bothered to help them.
Religious freedom for Muslims in Burma has been systematically curbed. In the post 9/11 era, random accusations of "terrorism" against Muslims have become a common form of persecution and harassment by Burmese Buddhists. Burmese Government does not consider Rohingya Muslims as citizens and they are hated by the Buddhist majority. Rohingya Muslims in Burma have long demanded recognition as an indigenous ethnic group with full citizenship by birthright. But the Government regards them as illegal immigrants from neighboring Bangladesh and denies them citizenship.
"Nobel Prize winner," Aung San Suu Kyi, does not consider Muslims as citizens. Speaking at London School of Economics meeting on June 2012 during her visit to the UK, she said "Rohingya Muslims should not be considered citizens." Later during her press conference at Downing Street, she did not condemn the killings of Rohingya Muslims taking place in Burma. Instead, she simply said that this "ethnic conflict should be investigated and dealt with wisdom." It wasn't just an insufficient response but a very shocking one from someone supposed to have won a "Noble Peace Prize."
The notorious master hypocrite and undercover CIA agent, Dalai Lama, continues to globe trot without mentioning a single word of the dangerously growing Buddhist intolerance in Burma, Thailand, Tibet and across the world. Such intolerance and persecution invariably result in resistance by the oppressed. Many Muslims have joined armed resistance groups, fighting for greater freedom in Burma.
On June 3rd 2012, eight Muslims returning to Rangoon in a bus after visiting a Masjid in the Arakan province were attacked by a mob of hundreds of Buddhists and slaughtered brutally. An eye-witness reported that after the mass murder "the culprits were celebrating triumph spitting and tossing wine and alcohol on the dead bodies lying on the road."
"These innocent people have been killed like animals," said Abu Tahay, of the National Democratic Party for Development, which represents the country’s much-persecuted stateless Muslim Rohingya community.
The Rohingya Muslims of Burma have continued to suffer from human rights violations under the Burmese junta since 1970s. Over the years thousands of Rohingya refugees have fled to neighboring countries like Thailand, Indonesia and Bangladesh etc. Even as refugees they have been facing hardships and have suffered persecution by the Thai government. In February 2009, a group of 5 boats packed with Burmese Rohingya Muslims were taken out and abandoned in the open sea by the Thai army. Four of these boats sank in a storm and one was washed ashore near the Indonesian islands. The few survivors who were rescued by Indonesian authorities told horrific stories of being captured and beaten by the Thai military and then abandoned at open sea.
Being "peaceful" or "humble" (as claimed by their biased supporters) is a far cry concerning the Burmese Buddhists. Their vindictive temperament prowls for vendetta, waiting to use even the most insignificant occurrence as an excuse to perpetrate violence on Burmese Muslims. At any time, if there's some ethnic disturbance between Muslims and Buddhists/Hindus in any other country, the Burmese Buddhists waste no time going on a murderous spry killing the Muslim minority in Burma. If there is the slightest of trouble between Muslims and non-Muslims in Indonesia, it's taken as a pretext to kill Muslims in Burma by Buddhist mobs. The destruction of the statues in Bamiyan (Afghanistan), created an immediate excuse to commit violence against Muslims in Burma in 2001. The firebrand Buddhist monks demanded a Muslim masjid to be destroyed in retaliation. Mobs of Buddhists led by monks, vandalized Muslim-owned businesses and property in Burma, and attacked and killed Muslims in Muslim communities.
Gruesome images of murdered Rohingya Muslims in the recent June 2012 riots in Burma have been circulated on websites, resulting in protests in several Muslim countries and by various human rights activists around the world demanding justice & protection in Burma for the minority, but has fallen on deaf ears as usual, getting little or no coverage from mainstream news channels.
PLEASE SEND THIS AROUND. THE WORLD HAS THE RIGHT TO KNOW THE TRUTH.Continued from top..."Verily, you will find the strongest among men in enmity to the Muslims are the Jews and the Idol Worshippers." al-Maidah 5:82"As the world's attention is focused on the Arab spring sweeping across the Islamic World, toppling dictator after dictator, liberating the Muslims from decades of tyranny and oppression, in the far east, savagery against our Muslim brothers and sisters knows no bounds.Where once the Buddhist majority protested against their suppression by the military junta of Burma, they are now the tyrant oppressors burning Muslims alive in their homes and buses just because they are Muslims. How are they to fast, pray and complete their entire Islamic obligations under such circumstances?"Inaction, passivity and fatalism has got us into this mess as well as defeatism and despair. These are cowardice concepts which Islam does not allow us to have. Procrastination is another messy concept which diverts us from the real issues at hand. What is going to make us move and go out into society (a la the Arab Spring) following the footsteps of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) and publicly calling for the re-establishment of the Khilafah?Abu Hurayra (ra) said that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: “Verily the Imam (Khalifah) is but a shield from behind which the people fight and with which they protect themselves. So if he ordered us to observe the taqwa of Allah and he was just he would have equal to these (actions) in reward, and if he ordered other than that it would be against him equal to that.” [Muslim]Is a dua-only action going to change the situation of the Muslims? Dua is important but only when it is coupled with action. Unfortunately many Muslims today are only concerned with just making lots of duas. A classic example to explain why this is wrong is when Abu Bakr (ra) made preparations before Jihad to such an extent that the people thought that he does not depend on Allah (swt) for anything. But when he (ra) made dua the night before the battle, he made dua to such as extent that the people thought that he (ra) depends on Allah swt for everything! This is a good lesson for the Individualistic Muslims of today. The Prophet (saw) said in the following hadiths:Al-Bazzar and Tabarani narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger (saw) said: "You shall enjoin good and you shall forbid munkar, or Allah will empower on you the evil ones, then your best ones will call upon Allah and he shall not respond."On the authority of Aisha (ra) the Messenger (saw) said: "O people! Allah says: Enjoin good and forbid evil before you call me and I will not reply to you, and before you ask me and I will not give you, and before you seek my forgivenss and I will not give victory to you." [Bukhari, Muslim]“By Him in Whose Hands is my soul! You must enjoin the good and forbid the evil, otherwise Allah will be about to send upon you a punishment from Him, then you would pray to Him but He would not answer you.” [Ahmad b. Hanbal: 22212]Perfecting oneself at the expense of the Muslim Ummah in other lands being butchered is as alien to Islam as pork is to our stomachs. If the Prophet (saw) decided to perfect himself while receiving the new revelation, then his (saw)'s wife Khadija (ra) will not have become Muslim. His (saw)'s companions will also not have become Muslim. The arabian peninsula will not have become Muslim and thus the Middle East and parts of Asia, Africa and the Far East. My family would still be in India worshipping cows and the Prophet (saw) would not have established Islam upon this Earth. What did the Prophet (saw) and his Sahabas (ra) do in Mecca? Just what is it that they did that caused the backlash against them by the Qur'aysh when they tortured them and boycotted them? They called to the destruction of the Kufr way of life and the establishment of Islam. This they mashallah successfully did in Medina in 622. The rest is history...but only for 13 centuries until the destruction of the Uthmani Khilafah in Istanbul in 1924. From that point is our history. We will be judged by Allah swt on the Day of Judgement for our blatant inaction, our abandonment of the biggest obligation, and concentrating on other things that does nothing whatsoever to bring the Ultimate Victory to the Ummah of Muhammad (saw). We must do exactly what the Prophet (saw) and the Sahabas did and that is a very important Sunnah from the Prophet (saw). The continuing killing of the Muslims while we ignore the vital issues for so long and concentrating on other things has become a stain on us.Therefore we need to publicly carry out the Dawah to the Muslims worldwide wherever we are to wake her up from her slumber and agitate and raise awareness of something that is blatantly missing from our Deen. How many Ramadhans are we going to have before we wake up? How many massacres? Are you waiting for the Khilafah to come to you? Or are we going to be proactive and establish it with our hands? As one brother put it:**SILENCE IS BETRAYAL**"In this blessed month of sacrifice, endurance, patience and perseverance we need to bring focus that it is also a month of liberation, conquests and victories. As important as it is for our Ibadah to be complete and wholesome, so it is the right of every Muslim."The stories of the Battles of Badr, Hattin and Ain Jaloot in Ramadhan are not some abstract realities that happened ages ago and will not happen again. And that Jihad has not been abandoned or made 'defensive' only. There are various hadiths talking about the important of Jihad:“I have been sent before the Last Hour with the (command of the) sword until Allah (swt) is worshipped alone without any associates. My sustenance has been written in the shade of my spear. Humiliation has been ordained for those who oppose my command. And whoever imitates a people is one of them.”"Shall I not tell you of the peak of the matter, its pillar, and its topmost part?" Muadh bin Jabal said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "The peak of the matter is Islam; the pillar is prayer; and its topmost part is jihad." [Related by Al-Tirmithi, who said it was a fine and true hadith.]Jihad in Ramadhan timeline:
- 624 - Battle of Badr.
Makkan idolaters. "The great battle of Badr", was the first battle between Muslims and infidels.
- 627 - The Battle of the Ditch. Muslims trained for this battle during Ramadan, though it occurred in the following month of Shawal.
- 630 - Battle of Tabouk (also called the Battle of Tabuk). The soldiers of Islam, under the leadership of Muhammad, established a training and fighting camp in Tabouk during the month of fasting, the Byzantine army shown no aggression so the Muslims returned peacefully without fighting.
- 653 - Conquest of Rhodes.
- 710 - Muslims led by Tarek bin Ziyad, invaded Spanish southern frontier cities on the Andalusian coast defeating King Roderick. They stayed for eight hundred years, disseminating Islam. From there, Islam spreads out through Europe.
- 1099 - Battle of Ascalon. Took place on 22 Ramadan (August 12), the newfound crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem defeated Fatimid Egypt.
- 1187 - Battle of Hattin. Took place at dawn—after the Night of Power (Lailat ul-Qadr); a night during the last ten days of Ramadan when tradition says that the angel Gabriel descended and God called Muhammad to be His messenger. (It is sometimes translated as the Night of Destiny.) SultanSaladin (Salah Al-Din Al-Ayubi) wiped out the Frankish army and went on to reclaim Jerusalem for Islam. The battle took place on July 4.
- 1260 - Battle of Ain Jalut. Qutuz defeated the Mongols in Palestine.
"Has not Syria shown just how much Khayr (goodness) there is in the Ummah? The mosques in Syria are full and streets are almost full at the first Fajr prayer in Ramadhan. Mashallah. So where are those who said the Ummah 'isn't ready' and 'loves the Dunya too much'?" Even a mother in Syria was busy preparing her son for fighting against Bashar and his thugs. Mashallah.I have heard of many crying taking place in the Ummah. Even here in Edmonton, one Sheikh gave a khutba and managed to make every single person cry in the masjid and there were a lot of people. But what the Ummah needs is ACTION, not tears. Tears will not change anything. Men crying like women will not help our brothers and sisters around the world. These are called Crocodile tears because crying is all that some people do, but don't actually do anything except console the victims, or maybe to make themselves feel better afterwards. Why are we crying like women when we men are not brave enough or man enough to defend our brothers and sisters?!"So much for the Turkish officials going to Burma and shedding some crocodile tears there and did some acting like consoling them and cuddling them and offering words of comfort. The intellectually and ideologically declined Muslims promoting these crocodile tears and celebrating it as eid before the Eid. There was a time when Muslim Armies would be mobilized for the help of a single Muslim but now Muslims gets satisfied with a few crocodile tears shed by agent rulers who implement Taghoot (Kufr rule) upon the Muslims." How about sending the Turkish army to do Jihad against the Military Junta and the Buddhists of Burma? How about doing it in Ramadhan? Finally one brother said that:"Islam is a practical religion, and Allah swt is not our Mr Fix it that anything goes wrong we just pray to Allah swt to fix it and hope for the best. We are all created with a mind to think, with a body to act to remove oppression and injustice. The Islamic State will not be a utopian euphoria full of luxury, indulgences, and extreme lavishness. It will be a state in which justice will be upheld and the highest code of authority (Allah's shariah) will be mandated. Yes, everyone will be taken care of to the best of the ability to the state, people will have dignity and never be shamed or mistreated, and life will revolve around the deen and practicing Islam in its entirety. No cutting corners, no corruption, no political scandals, and absolutely no elite favoritism. The fisherman will be treated the same as a doctor and no one will have bragging rights of any sort--class, gender, and lineage. If you want to know exactly how things will run, refer to our past 1300 years of glory. In the past, we have great examples throught Abu Bakr and Umar amongst so many where they lived simple and modest lives, sacrificing for the sake of the Ummah. They did not live in the lap of luxury but made sure, even if it was from their own pockets and efforts, that the people of Mohammed's Ummah were taken care of. This in no way entails perfection but perfection is only for Allah and nothing will ever be perfect on earth, however, Allah's laws and rules will be sovereign. If you are looking for the fantasy and dreamlike realm of exhilaration, well then work for it, isn't that what Jennah is for?Work for the Khilafah, its a fardh."Your brother,OD
